2What we collect

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

  • Contact details: your name, email address and phone number, when you fill in a form, call or email us.
  • Property details: the postcode, bedrooms and type of a property you ask us to value, or tell us about.
  • Booking and enquiry details: the dates, number of guests and places you ask about.
  • Referrals: if you introduce someone, their name and contact details, which you confirm they are happy to share.
  • Website use: pages visited, where visitors come from, and the type of device and browser, counted without cookies and without identifying you.

3How we use it

We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

  • To reply to you, and to prepare and send a valuation you asked for
  • To manage bookings and enquiries, and to keep in touch about them
  • To run and improve our website and services
  • To send marketing emails, only if you have agreed to them
  • To meet our legal obligations

5Who we share it with

Details from our forms go straight into our own lead and operations system, which only our team can see, and to our team's messaging (Slack) so someone can reply quickly. We use trusted providers to host the website and our systems (Vercel) and to send email. They process data only on our instructions. Property maps on the site are drawn by OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address when the map loads.

When you book a stay, your name, contact details and booking go to Guesty, the system we manage bookings with, and your card payment is handled by Stripe, which processes it securely; we never see your full card number. Before check-in you complete your ID check, rental agreement and damage deposit or waiver through SuiteOp, the guest verification service we use. SuiteOp keeps your ID only during your stay and deletes it afterwards; deposits and waivers are paid through Stripe.

6Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. This site sets no cookies of its own. On the booking page, our payment provider Stripe sets the cookies it needs to prevent fraud.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you or follow you to other websites.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the booking page may then not work as well.

7Keeping it safe, and for how long

We use secure hosting, password-protected systems and access limited to the people who need it. We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires; booking and payment records are normally kept for six years for tax.

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards the UK recognises, such as standard contractual clauses.

8Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • Show you the data we hold about you
  • Correct it
  • Delete it, where the law allows
  • Stop or limit how we use it, or withdraw your consent
  • Send it to you or someone else in a common format

9Complaints and questions

To use any of these rights, or with any question, email stay@home-hosts.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
